An XXXciting day out
Tuesday, 26 October 2010
Ever imagined how it would be to enter an advertising agency in London? Well yesterday was a day when exxxcitement took over me as we, Bucks Advertising students went to Saatchi & Saatchi to get a crit on a project we were given by Alex & Linda. 2 wild ladies who went to our uni a year ago and are now successfully breathing London's everlasting creative crazy air!!
The brief sounds pretty easy when you see on a piece of paper: Choose what you Hate... Then on the second line, it says: Make yourself like it? It was nights and days of creative juice squeezing and as i bashed my face over a cooking book in the library, i strangely had an idea for this project.
We all know that when we hate something, it's because the messages which was sent up to Father Brain wasn't really exciting.. so who do we look for when we can't get to the boss directly? We got to the messenger and in this case, it's the Tongue. The video shows a tongue that is always looking for more but then get's shocked at what he sees and changes he's view on life... i mean on food!
Enjoy and don't chew those popcorns too loud!! haha
The place to be..

Come fishy fishy!
Tuesday, 15 June 2010
Sometimes , we wake up with actually no plans in mind, and that scary feeling leaves us shaking for something to occupy our creative hands with. I rushed to open my creepy art drawer and grab some paint, brushes and some white paper to bless something on them.
Now the best part comes: What the hell am i gonna bless it with? haha
I closed my eyes, drank some wine and suddenly had a strange image of a fish that was pulling me as if i was it's Titanic. Pulling me away. I wasn't sure for what, all i knew was that it was stronger that Popeye.
The outcome is below!

Portfolio Night 8 Hong Kong
Friday, 21 May 2010
Last night was a night to remember. A night that concluded all the hard work, Harmeet and I have put into our wild portfolio. Days and especially long nights spent hiding in our creative secret place: POLYU school of design computer rooms. Our passion to create ideas that are not just there to make money and make clients happy but the ideas that will stand out and make living better, make life funner!! (Not sure if funner exists as a word) but i sounds good!
5.30pm: We find ourselves arriving at the Portfolio Night 8 event in Hong kong. Excitement fills our bodies as we head to the reception to get our name tags and find out which creative director will get to spy on our portfolio and see whether we have the ''creative sperms in us to give birth to some wonderful baby creations?''
The night was great: meeting so many creative people, getting great advice and not forgetting the yummy food and drinks waiting to get adopted by some hungry mouths!!
There are some lessons are learned for this experience:
1) Have faith in your work before you try explaining it to someone else.
2) Never feel bombarded when someone gives you comments but use it has a ladder to your success tree.
3) Have fun in what you do, no matter what!

Whisper her!
Saturday, 6 March 2010
For our previous Online advertising brief, we had to find an ad and from there create a online ad for that product that would attract people to click it on a website.
I was kind of lost on which one to choose to i opened a chinese newspaper i found lying next to me and the first ad i got was for Whisper's women pads. I thought it was destiny and started to get wild with ideas!
The idea that won first place in my list was to create a kind of game so that not only girls would click it but guys might get curious and might want to play the game and maybe choose the right pads for their girlfriends.

You open a homepage and on the left there is the Whisper Ad in dark blue that will stand out. The trick to grab the viewers attention is the jumping princess who wants to get on the magic carpet..

The viewer will then help her get on the carpet and the carpet takes off and starts the game. Just by moving the mouse left to right, you have to prevent her from hitting the evil starts that represent the tough moments of a woman's menstruation process.

After a while, she will enter a white vortex to end the game and finally the whisper logo appears saying : Whisper, The experience you'll never forget!

EU Organic logo Competition
Sunday, 23 August 2009
Nowadays, people are not aware of what goes into their body thanks to the lack of information about the misuse of pesticides used in agriculture.
The idea for the logo is linked to the word ''support''. Many people often attach badges or stickers on their clothes to support a certain cause. In this way, we would like citizens of the EU to support healthy eating. The logo looks like a sticker which is slightly peeling off. The sticker's main shape derives from a circular green world where inside we find a lighter green soil with healthy grass growing in all the same direction. This symbolizes how nature is perfect and if we grow food the natural way, it will be good and perfect for us. The peeling bit of the logo shows the wonderful and energetic colors of healthily grown food (ex. Red tomatoes, orange carrots, purple eggplants, pink strawberries, yellow lemons and the list goes on). This strips of colors all lead to the center of the circle to represent that we should all return to the origin, as people of past generations did by a healthy way of eating. The message we're trying to give is that eating organically grown food not only will surprise us by the big difference in color, texture and taste comparing to normal food we find in supermarkets, but also make us feel good about what we eat and feel energetic like the colors of organic food!

Feel life, Feel Thun
Thursday, 9 July 2009
Most of us live our lives with the joy of what life has to offer. Thun gave us a new brief to promote it new set of angels collections: Angel for Kids, Angels for Mums, Angels for Grandparents. The whole idea of my ad was based on how life leads us to certain wonderful events, like playing with many other kids as a child, the wonderful experience when your child says ''mummy'' for the first time or when you see your nephews doing things that reminds you of your young moments of your life. Life is represented as a yellow string that twins around our hands cause we too have to make decisions to have the life we want to have. This string later goes around the angels moving from life as a kid to life as a grandparent. If your children makes some babies of course. In the orange palm filled with the hot color of enthusiam for life, the text says: Life is an adventure. Enjoy the trip!
Life is like a rollercoaster: Its ups and its down sometimes makes you vomit but in the end, leave the vomit behind and look forward to more suprises!
Say No to Vomit!

Icy Freshness
Tuesday, 30 June 2009
I saw the new brief of the famous juice brand Pago which have created a new selection of juices and are looking for an ad to represent their really fresh juices called Pago on the Rocks. A new way of drinking their drinks on ice! I wanted to associate the Brand Pago with it's freshness and make it Fun. The ad shows a guy exciting his taste buds with the new icy freshness of Pago on the Rocks.
Are your taste buds excited yet?

Fly away from fakeland
Monday, 29 June 2009
There was a brief from Nike and i couldn't have not participated in it as 'Nike is Nike'. A powerful brand that has to do with sportive energetic quality. What did i have to do? Create an ad to advice Italians to support the brand and buy original shoes! Fake ones may look the same but nothing cheap is quality. You might be thinking what does a stork have to do with a sportive brand like Nike?
I thought that we should create an ad which was more colorful and that captures the attention of people around. We have a stork which instead of carrying a baby in its mouth, it has its favourite pair of original Nike shoes. Everything in the add seems surreal: the stork made out of circles and shoelace, the birds in the sky made up of the Nike logo faced back to each other. The shoe prints below symbolize the black illegal work used to make fake shoes and the bird ready to fly away from it with it's original shoes!
Quality + Satisfaction = Nike

Music In all we Do!
Monday, 22 June 2009
I have always been a big fan of my hand while some of my friends got wild with their high computer skills on design programs. They usually had rejects when it came to paper and pencil. Maybe due to the screeching sound it makes when the lead grates against the rough paper or maybe they just prefer the smooth feel of a Mac. Nowadays, i think people should return to their origins. No technology can replace the fun of drawing your own idea on a piece of paper and maybe later making it cooler with the help of technology. Like my wise dad always says: Don't let technology control but you control it!
During this year, One of our computer brief from Josh, our computer genius was to create a logo for a music agency called Artist Sounds. At the airport, waiting calmly at the check in queue while you see other people pretending they penguins trying to snuggle into the queue, i had this idea of linking Artistic Sounds to a guitar which was getting checked in. Guitar .. Music.. but how was i going to make it all work well together. After sketching down many ideas, I finally decided that the letter ''s'' of Sounds to undergo cheap brazilian surgery and become a sexy guitar.
Typography have feelings too! haha

The Book
Thursday, 18 June 2009
This morning, went down to collect the post and i see a parcel for me? What could it be? Maybe a free bible from the nearby church who try their best to lead people to their Church. I opened it and to my wild surprise: It was a copy of the book which i designed the cover for. This is so cool! I still can't stop feeling how smooth the book is.
Eh VIVA!

Smile me!
Tuesday, 16 June 2009
I was looking out my window today and i was just wondering how the world was feeling? How the people i saw felt on this beautiful sunny day? So i thought it would be cool, if people could show their feelings on a t-shirt so others would understand how they feel and either join their happiness or try make them get high with happiness if they're emo.
The shirts are sold with a black marker and with this marker you can add facial expressions on the specially printed yellow circle. Since the material of the circle is plastic, if you suddenly decide to yellow face, then grab a wet cloth, wipe it out and draw a new one. Easy as ABC, 123 !!

WMH Live Brief
Wednesday, 10 June 2009
University life of wild creativity has sadly ended and It's time to get creatively sweaty in the mama mia Italy. Our last crit for the year was for WMH. It was a fun last time where all of us (graphic design and advertising students) got together in the same lecture room to make our Live brief groups proud and make Representative Emma from WMH say wow! Mummy mia! Oh my Gosh!
All the groups started to present their ideas, Everyone excited to hear them! Then came our turn, The Creative Orgys! We went up and everyone of us went through parts of the development of our BIG idea! It may not have been big for Emma but to us it had a very BIG potentiality!
We had to recreate the exisiting shop of Jamie Oliver, where people who needed to know how to get dirty with food and make it yummy for the tummy, went there and got taught how to do it.. But looking at the brief we got, it didn't look like Recipease was doing preety well!
We wanted to make it different. Instead of the people having to come to this unique location of the shop. The shop which would come in a truck would go around towns in the UK and let everyone (who wants to get face to face with food) do it!
You might be asking how would we advertise our hungry for food lovers arrival. Ok. We thought of putting vegetable growing out of cement floors to first, attract peoples attention to his unsual sight but also, tell them when they get closer that ''Something New Is Growing in Town'' . All the details of time will be stated too.. and location? it will just where the vegetables are popping out! So no one would get confused especially old people who kinda easily get confused with unfamiliar roads. We want everyone one to get passionate for Food. Old people, young people, Babies, animals.. ok i was joking about the last one.. but maybe in the future Dog owners could come let their dog taste all kinds of food!

Our main aim here was to make food Fun! Who doesn't like fun, put your hands up! The name we chose to replace the boring ''Recipease'' was Ol'over --> ''All over'' the place.. Our truck will be... We thought of a fun way to attract people to Ol'ver.. I was thinking about babies playing with colourful cubes. Pop! Came the idea to make a colourful cube where every door would open and there would be different kinds of herbs ( 6 herbs in 1 cube) with packets of the herbs sold separately as refills. Someone can bring this herb around and choose which herb they desire to have with their dish. If he/she is confuse .. NO problemo! roll the cube and the lucky colour will guide you to the right herb.
For the menĂ¹. Fun continued flowing. Instead of opening a boring menu like a book, Our menĂ¹ actually looks like a disc. You turn it & You see the dishes! Like a wheel of fortune: Winning is fun!

Food Time
Tuesday, 2 June 2009
Last two weeks of uni and we got a life brief from WMH (Williams Murray Hamm) The ad agency in London to rebrand Jamie Olivers ''Recipease'' Shop in London.. That means that since he's a chef, we gotta know all about food first. The way it feels, It's colours and not forgetting it's wild yummy taste.
Our Group that is passionately called ''Creative Orgy'' decided we should have a pizza making session and feel the emotions of making something fresh from scratch. And let me tell you, that after making a pizza, not only does your stomach feel the excitement to gobble it down but you feel happy because you have made something personalized with your own creativity and foodivity skills!

Explore Type
Tuesday, 26 May 2009
During our Type Lesson with the wild italiana-englishy Ms Murphy, we learnt loads on type and how we should stand out from the typical people around that see type as one thing and that remains. We must explore and go beyond of how we see things especially in prints. Her Gold dust was Space. It makes everything seem bella! But you must know how to play with it.
To finish these days of type lessons, we had to sum up all we had learnt and put it beautifully on a page to make it pleasurable for the eye to see it!
We also had to create a poster for an invented band and their concert. Playing around with everything, I thought of cutting of the letters of the Band's name and when placed on different surfaces, we get different emotions and perceptions of the poster.

Mission: Doorman
Thursday, 21 May 2009
Our last Big brief for this advertising year, (Given an occupation ex. doorman) we had to create a manifesto of 6 points showing how this job could be amazing! Went to London, Spoke to many doorman of all kinds, Retail door people in fashion stores, High class doorman, Crazily fun animated door people like princesses and jokers at Hamleys Toy store ecc. It was a pretty fun getting to know so much and this led to our creation of our video.
Kathleen and I wanted to do something different so, we thought of all kinds of doorman ( definition: A man employed to attend an entrance) ex. teeth to the throat, Scarecrow to the fields, Dog to kennel and made one big mixture of how a doorman can love his job!

Breast Milk, Yes we want!
Thursday, 30 April 2009
In this brief created by us (Kalinda & I) we wanted to encourage mothers to breastfeed their children by creating awareness of the benefits. Every year around one million and a half babies die from the misuse of formula. Due to the absence of essential vitamins needed for healthy babies growth. With further research, create an awareness campaign that encourages mothers to understand the benefits of natural breast milk for them and their babies.
After getting lost in the High Wycombe hills in the middle of the night, we came out with some crazy ideas. We wanted to make the people around participate with this awareness campaign so we created stickers of " I Love Mum's Milk" that we stuck on people boobs. Our Target was to have more younger ladies have this stickers as they could set a trend of breastfeeding. On the bottom, is the website where people get log on and get extra info about the benefits of breastfeeding.

Then we wanted to play with the psychological side of kids and their desire for something natural and what else then freshly produced from the babies mama!
This Ad below, plays with the innocence of babies, showing how the baby on the right is jealous of the baby next to him who gets breastfed.

The ad above, simply made with typography is showing how the 100% nutrients in breast milk can give kids the best. That's always want mothers want for their kids.. THE BEST!!

Ever thought about ....
Thursday, 9 April 2009
How many times have you watched the News and the word you hear over and over again is .. Died?
But there are many factors which are linked to that famous word.. Our project was to get wild and combine everything we know like illustration, typography ecc. and present it in a 3D or 2D form.. As i got the brief, my hunger was slowly taking over my alert brain and all i thought was food and this pain in the ass disturbance actually led me to my final piece of work..
Main Topic: Hunger of the world! I made the 2 destroyed cutlerys covered with the human blood, facing each other as they were fighting to represent the anger, hatred in this world which lead to wars. They are not touching each other as i wanted to show that if we don't hurt each other we can , from above , look down at the plate and notice what real problems are going on.. Poverty, Hunger.. = People Dying and try to put all our dedication to make this world a better place for you and I !!
Thanks Michael Jackson for starting the ball rolling!
Now it's your turn to hit strike!!
